If you haven't seen our niece Kimber's update for today, the link is below:
Some of you on this list may not know that she is our niece and an SC alum. To learn more about what they are doing, check out the organization they founded noted at the end of the video. I don't have the bandwidth to explain again right now.
Misha (pictured below), our son, (married to our daughter Hannah) is leaving in a few days to go back to Ukraine via Berlin to take military supplies and funds for refugee relief. Again, please pray. Below is what the Corvallis Sister Cities organization said in their newsletter yesterday. Corvallis is the sister city of Uzhgorod, Ukraine, where we have been many times and where we took several teams of SC students some years ago:
"We have an individual who was born in Ukraine (our Misha), married to a woman who grew up in Corvallis (our Hannah), and is now a U.S. citizen living in McMinnville. He will be flying to Germany on Wednesday, March 9. His brother in Ukraine is fighting on the front lines and his parents reside in Uzhhorod. He is carrying ten suitcases of medical supplies to our physician colleague in Uzhhorod with whom we have a 20-year relationship. He is also willing to carry money that has been raised and deposited into our Uzhhorod Refugee Fund. He can cross over and back on the border because he is a US citizen with a US passport."
Who knew that thirty years ago in 1992, when I first went to Ukraine and the Lord spoke to my heart that the implications of that trip were so much bigger than I knew, that Jeannie and I would have a son going back to help his country at war with Russia?
It is a very heavy, heartbreaking situation. Please pray.
